- Regarding business finance the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills manages programmes aimed at helping the cash flow, credit and investment needs of small and medium sized enterprises.
- Regionally, the South West Regional Development Agency offers enhanced business support initiatives, including a new loan fund for South West Businesses, through Business Link.
- Business Link also provides information, advice and support needed to start, maintain and grow a business and advice for managing a business in the current economic climate. As well as providing impartial feedback and guidance, advisers can indicate suitable sources of help throughout the public, private and voluntary sectors on many issues. Business Link also runs regular events and information workshops on a range of topical business themes.
- Jobcentre Plus offers support for businesses regarding staff recruitment and redundancies.
- The Bristol Business Guide contains details of over 5000 local businesses. Any business in Bristol can ask to be added to the online directory free of charge. Members of the Business Guide community also get updates on free business training, upcoming tender opportunities and other items of interest.
