Introduction
We subscribe to a wide range of internet services that members of Bristol Libraries can use, free of charge.
Most of these resources can be used from home, your very own 24 hour library.

Adult Directions (Central Library use only)
Description: Adult Directions Online (aimed at Adults of all ages and abilities) can produce a list of career suggestions based on your work interests and selected occupational level. Transparent results illustrate why each career has been suggested. Matching to virtually every career shows why certain careers are not suggested. Skills analysis identifies where existing skills can be used. Detailed information on over 1,900 career titles, Preferred salary/employment styles careers selector, over 4,400 photographs of people at work. Salary and labour market information.

Careerscape (Central Library use only)
Description: Careerscape Online (aimed at the 13 and up age group) provides over 700 different careers (over 1,900 career titles) with over 550 real-life case studies. Updated 3 times per year. Over 4,400 photographs of 'real' people at work, 89 articles covering education, training and employment issues and over 400 high-quality videos. Contains information on over 43,000 UCAS higher education courses. Print or save PDF leaflets of every career and article.

Cobra
Description: Cobra publishes a wide range of information on starting up and running small businesses. It offers opportunity profiles, how-to guides, reports, checklists and fact sheets. It provides tools for tackling crucial aspects of business, including: compliance with rules and regulations, finding new customers, and business planning. Fact sheets on specific trades or jobs present useful careers information.
Home login: Once connected enter the letters ANP followed by your complete library card number with no gaps. Then select 'Submit'.
Library access: No Username or password needed.

Kudos (Central Library use only)
Description: Kudos Online provides (aimed at 13-20 year olds, Year 9 onwards) a personalised list of career suggestions and up-to-date information on over 1,800 career titles. Transparent results illustrate why each career has been suggested and why certain careers are not suggested. Updated 3 times a year with over 4,200 photographs of people at work with Salary and labour market information.

Mint (Central Library use only)
Description: Mint contains information on over 3.5 million active UK companies plus half a million unincorporated businesses. It's news database includes regional and trade press as well as national news. The market research section contains over 160 UK industry profiles from Datamonitor including information on the market, its size, companies' market share, the competitive landscape and forecasts. Both current and previous directors of UK businesses are included giving their home address, their date of birth and their nationality plus a list of current and previous directorships.
