Report anti-social behaviour

In an emergency

If someone is acting in a violent or threatening way towards you or your property contact the police on 999 immediately.

If you are a council tenant:

  • Contact the Estate Management Service on 0117 922 2200 (Option 4), Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6pm.
  • Email: estates@bristol.gov.uk
  • Fax: 0117 352 5104.
  • Write to: Estates North or Estates South, PO Box 595, Bristol, BS99 2AW.

If you are a housing association tenant:

  • Contact your housing association.

Reporting specific forms of anti-social behaviour

A number of different council departments deal with various aspects of anti-social behaviour. You can report a range of issues such as graffiti on our problems in my area page.

Information we need to help us to investigate your case

  • What happened - give a description of the incident.
  • Where it happened - was it a specific address or can you describe the location?
  • When it happened - what was the date and time of the incident?
  • Who was responsible - do you know their name and address? If not can you describe them?
  • Why it happened - was it targeted at you or is it something that affects the whole community?
  • How did it affect you?

What will happen if I report anti-social behaviour?

We will treat all information you give us in confidence.

If you are a private tenant or owner occupier

Our teams will work with the Police and other partner agencies to support you and put a stop to the anti-social behaviour.

Action you can take

Many problems can often be sorted out by talking to each other. Sometimes people genuinely don't know that they are causing a problem. If you feel comfortable try talking to the person concerned about how their behaviour affects you. If you don't feel able to do this we can refer you to Bristol Mediation. Using trained mediators, they will work with everyone involved to talk about the issues and try to reach an agreement.
