Purchasing a memorial
There are various options for memorialisation provided to allow families to commemorate a loved one following cremation. Our range of memorials is featured on these pages.
Please contact the appropriate office for an application form and further information.
Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance provides a dignified memorial of quality and permanence. The book provides the opportunity to create a uniquely personal memorial with considered wording and artwork. The inscriptions, which are hand painted by artists, provide a lasting form of memorial.
The book is in four volumes, one for each quarter of the year with two pages are allocated to each day. The book is displayed open at the appropriate day in a protective glass-topped cabinet situated in the Book Room, within the Crematorium Chapel. As well as being available to be seen without appointment on the anniversary dates, entries can also be viewed on other dates by request.
Entries are usually made to mark the anniversary of a death but you can choose any other date that is meaningful, should you wish.
The wording of your choice is penned in black ink, the lead letter of each name in red.
With entries of five or more lines, space is available to enhance the memorial by the inclusion of a miniature work of art, such as a floral emblem, motif or coat of arms. Prices include VAT.
- 2 line entry: £64.00.
- 5 line entry: £94.00.
- 5 line entry with floral emblem: £152.00.
- 5 line entry with motif or badge: £175.00.
- 8 line entry: £124.00.
- 8 line entry with floral emblem: £182.00.
- 8 line entry with motif or badge: £205.00.
Miniature books and remembrance cards
Copies of entries in the Book of Remembrance are available for a record or memento to treasure personally, or to send to relatives and friends. These can be supplied either in the form of a folded remembrance card, which will contain a single entry, or as a miniature book in which further entries can be added at any time for other members of the family.
Cremated remains plot with granite memorial
This quality scheme has been introduced for those wishing to have the cremated remains of their loved ones placed in a casket and buried beneath an eighteen by eighteen inch granite memorial stone in a small grave.
These plots are available at our Canford, South Bristol and Shirehampton cemeteries.
The grave is leased for a period of thirty years and allows for a second burial in the same plot if this is required at a later date.
These beautifully produced memorials are available in either black or grey with either gold or black engraved lettering. You have eleven lines available for the inscription and there is a facility for one or two flower holders.
The price includes the supply of the memorial with an inscription of up to 120 letters, the thirty year exclusive right of burial and the cost of the first burial in the plot.
At an additional charge we are able to include an inscribed design of a rose on the memorial stone.
Caskets are available from us but are normally provided by your funeral director as part of the funeral arrangements.
Price: £1,190.00 inc VAT.
Additional charge for inscribed rose: £67.00 inc VAT.

Trees in parks and open spaces
Bristol City Council is currently running a campaign to sponsor the replanting of trees across the city, including Bristol's parks and open spaces. If you feel the planting of a tree in this environment to be a more suitable memorial, please look at the Tree Sponsorship Scheme, which is part of the Council's TreeBristol campaign.
