What are neighbourhood walkabouts?

We aim to ensure that where you live is safe and clean. To help do this we carry out neighbourhood walkabouts.  These involve Housing Advisors walking around the areas they are responsible for, identifying and tackling issues such as:

• graffiti
• fly-tipping
• abandoned vehicles
• litter
• poorly maintained areas.

Below are some examples of work undertaken following comments raised on walkabouts:

• Crosscrombe Drive Flats, Hartcliffe - Concerns were raised about the misuse of the refuse bin area and the lack of recycling facilities. Following consulting with tenant's new refuse and recycling areas have been created.
• Dean Crescent, Bedminster - An extremely large conifer tree, which was growing too close to a property, has been removed at the request of tenants.
• Dowling Road, Hartcliffe - Flytipping has been removed.
• Latchmore House, Bedminster Down - Concerns were raised about security and overgrown lane. Following consulting with tenants we've extended the perimeter fence and cut back the overgrown vegetation.
• Rusham, Sherrin Way, Withywood - A report of ripped carpet was passed to Caretaking Services and the carpet has now been replaced.
• Polden House, Windmill Hill - Issues were raised about people climbing over the fence to the bin area. Fencing to the bin area has been made higher and refuse bins have been secured.
• St Catherines Court, Bedminster - Issues were raised about a lack of security. Following consulting with tenant's new fencing has been provided to the rear of the building. At the same time shrubs have been cut back as light to some flats was restricted and guttering has been cleared.
