Why sponsor a tree?
You can sponsor the planting of a tree as a celebration, a living memorial, to replace a lost street tree or to give a "green gift". We offer the opportunity for individuals, groups, communities and business to enhance their local neighbourhood, improve the natural environment and increase the tree cover over Bristol.
- A tree makes a meaningful gift that will grow and last for decades
- You can visit your tree, watch it grow and change through the seasons
- Trees make us feel more relaxed and add character to our neighbourhoods
- Trees are full time air filters, giving us cleaner air
- Trees bring nature to our doorstep by providing vital food and shelter for wildlife
TreeBristol plants 3-4 metre tall trees on council-owned land. Larger trees have a strong physical presence and greater resistance to vandalism. We protect the trees by staking and guarding and we maintain them carefully for the first 3 years until they are well established.

Business sponsorship
We are currently developing a range of business sponsorship packages, full details of which will be available on this website later in the year. For further information at this time please email treebristol@bristol.gov.uk or telephone 0117 352 5638.
Replace a lost street tree
If you have a tree stump or an empty tree pit in your street you can sponsor it to be replaced through our gold or silver leaf packages. This is subject to checks and site investigation and the council must approve the final species selection.
A tree in a new location
You can suggest a previously unplanted site, such as a bare grass verge or green space.
This scheme is subject to checks including consultation with residents and site investigation to determine the suitability of the site for planting and the council must approve the final location and species.
If your proposal is successful, for a donation of £330 we will plant your tree.
If you wish to propose improving other parks in Bristol through the planting of trees, then you may be interested in learning more about the development of the council's Parks and Green Space Strategy. As the Strategy develops, more locations will become available for sponsored tree planting.
