Weather data and meteorological services

The following information has been kindly supplied by the Bristol Weather Centre. All times are Clock Time.

1. Shipping forecasts are broadcast on Radio 4 at the following times, 00.33hrs, 05.55hrs, 13.55hrs and 17.50hrs.

2. Bristol Weather Centre issue Small Craft warning broadcast over local radio as appropriate, for wind force 6 and above. Similar warnings are supplied to Swansea Coastguard.

3. Marinecall inshore forecast can be obtained for the Bristol Channel area, telephone 09066 526 242, calls currently charged at 60p per minute, or by fax: 09061 502 120 calls currently cost £1.50 per minute.

4. The Harbour Master also logs details from the daily forecast.
