Extended service for our libraries

Bristol Libraries will be reaching even more library users in their own homes following the launch of an extended ‘at home’ service.
The service will deliver books to residents across Bristol and it will now also be increasing the number of customers who receive books delivered to their doorstep, free of charge.
The service is specifically targeted at those library customers who find themselves housebound and unable to access their local library.
Under the scheme, borrowers will be asked what they would like to read and will then be left a crate or bag, of books, including audio books, to suit.
Someone from the service will call every four weeks to change the books, usually on the same day and at the same time. The service includes free reservations and free delivery.
More than 100 residents across the city had previously benefited from the At Home service and that number has now been increased to around 185, with further additions to the service planned. These will mean that the number of customers using the service will more than triple.
