Blaise Castle Estate

Description

Blaise Castle Estate is a magnificent 650 acre, Grade II listed parkland in north west Bristol.

With over 5000 years of history, dozens of natural and manmade attractions and a substantial dog free play area, Blaise remains a firm favourite with children from all over the south west. The already hugely popular play area has recently been improved with government Play Pathfinder funding.

Facilities and activities

The large play area, which is close to the Kingsweston car park, is split into a play area for younger children and a play area for older children.

The facilities for younger children are next to the Blaise cafe and toilets and include sand play, climbing frames, a slide, swings and picnic area with picnic tables.

There's a large play area for older children with climbing towers, tube slides, a zip wire, high swings, a tree house climbing frame, basket swing, roundabout, seesaw, trampoline, speaking tubes and picnic benches set in a large area of grass. Both play areas are fenced so as to be dog free.

Access

Blaise Castle Estate is on the north western edge of Bristol, five miles from the city centre.

The main estate entrance is on Kingsweston Road where there is a large car park. The main entrance is also on a bus route.

The play area is flat with plenty of paths providing good access for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

There's a car parking fee at the main car park in Blaise Castle Estate.

£2 for up to 2 hours
£3 for up to 5 hours
