St Andrew's Park

Description

St Andrew’s Park with its many mature trees is one of the city’s classic Victorian neighbourhood parks, laid out at the same time as the housing development around it.

The park is open and accessible 24 hours a day, with tarmac paths providing access throughout for wheelchair users. There are some slopes in the park.

Location

Effingham Road, St Andrews
BS6 5AZ

Area

Redland

Facilities and activities

The play area includes a sand pit with rocking boat, sand digger and surfboard, a jungle climbing frame, wickstead climbing unit, toddler swings, accessible nest swings and other play equipment.

There's plenty of grass to run around on, with picnic tables and benches. The toddler facilities are fenced so as to be dog free.

Access

Entrance to the park is from its neighbouring streets: Sommerville Road, Effingham Road and Maurice Road, St Andrews.

The play area is accessible from entrances on Sommerville Road and Maurice Road and from other areas of the park. The play area is terraced on a sloping hill with paths and steps. Although mostly accessible, parts of it may be more challenging for wheelchair users.
