Apply for a weighbridge operator license.

Introduction

To operate a public weighbridge you must apply for a certificate of competence which is issued by the Chief Inspector for Weights and Measures for your local authority.

Eligibility criteria

You must have sufficient knowledge for the proper performance of your duties.

Will tacit consent apply?

No. It is in the public interest that the Council must process your application before it can be granted and a Public Weighbridge operator may not operate until they have been issued with a certificate. If you have not heard from the Council within a reasonable period, please contact us.

The target completion period for applications is 60 days.
