The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Treatment
The National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Treatment (NCSCT) provide a range of free smoking cessation training, assessment and verification courses online. These take 5 to 10 minutes to complete.
This is a first line training and intervention in smoking that can be delivered in only 30 seconds and yet can be powerfully effective in triggering quit attempts.
The NCSCT also offer training specific to:
- smoking in pregnancy
- vaping
- smokefree homes and cars
- supporting people who are homeless and smoking
eLearning
For more in-depth training, healthcare professionals can often complete the Alcohol and Tobacco Brief Interventions training on the eLearning for Health platform.
This will also equip you to deliver Very Brief Advice, but expands further upon the topic introduced in the NCSCT training.
Bristol's stop smoking service
Bristol's stop smoking service, provided by Everyone Health, can also deliver free 1 hour Smoking Awareness sessions to Bristol:
- staff groups
- employers
- groups of volunteers
- communities and other settings
This is delivered online and we can work with your team to tailor it to your bespoke needs.
