How to quit vaping

Write a list

Write a list of the reasons you don't want to vape anymore. When you're finding it hard, look back at the list to remind yourself why you want to quit.

Think about what makes you want to vape

Think about what triggers you wanting to vape. Make a plan for how you will deal with these situations.

You could:

  • do some exercise
  • talk to a friend
  • drink some sugar-free flavoured water
  • chew some sugar-free gum
  • listen to music
  • try some deep breathing

Reduce how much you vape

If you always vape at a specific time, try to delay it. You should also reduce the places that you vape. For example, if you usually vape on the way to and from school, try cutting out the vaping on the way to school.

Choose a stop date

Choose a date to stop vaping. You might find it easier to stop if you can prepare yourself.

Remember that stopping vaping is hard. Be proud that you're taking the first step to being vape free.
