The Winter Mini Reading Challenge

This year, The Reading Agency teamed up with the charity Create for a fantastic Summer Reading Challenge with Marvellous Makers! Now we’re back for the Winter Mini Challenge!

Join the characters for some creative winter fun and spark a love of reading even in the most reluctant of readers.

The Winter Mini Reading Challenge runs from 1 December 2024 to 20 February 2025. Children take part online only and they read any 3 library books (these can be books, eBook and eAudio) and unlock virtual rewards.

  • Rhyme and storytime sessions

    If you have a baby, you can come to our baby bounce and rhyme sessions.

  • Reading resources

    Bookstart gives free packs of books and information to parents of babies and pre-school children, to encourage a love of reading.

  • Children's University

    The Children’s University encourages children aged 5 to 14 years to get new interests and skills by joining learning activities outside of school.

  • Lego Clubs and Duplo sessions

    At our sessions, children can build what they like or follow our ideas, developing their science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) skills through play.
