We have a team of trained professionals who have been supporting people to stop smoking in Bristol for years, and in some cases, decades!

Some of our team are ex-smokers themselves. They're friendly, supportive, they don't judge, and they're ready to help you.

How it works

We'll ask you to set a quit date to stop smoking, rather than slowly reducing the amount you smoke over a longer period of time.

While slowly reducing the amount you smoke might seem like a good idea, every time you smoke you will continue to feed the addiction and quitting will become harder.

The longer you continue to smoke, the more damage you will do to your health, so let's give you the best chance of quitting for good.

If we can help you

If you're eligible to receive support from Everyone Health you'll be contacted before your first session to make sure that you're eligible for the sessions.

You will also be asked questions about why you want to quit smoking and arrange a date for your first session.

Week 1

Your first session is about 30 minutes.

In this session your Stop Smoking Advisor will try to understand more about you, including:

  • any past quit attempts
  • how much you smoke right now

They will give you some more information on the stop smoking aids that are available.

After the first session the advisor will order 2 weeks of your chosen aid for you to trial for free.

Week 2

This session lasts for about 15 minutes.

You should have received your stop smoking aids and set a quit date.

In this session your advisor will go over how to use your products properly and make sure that they are right for you.

Your advisor will explain some of the changes you may begin to feel, such as withdrawal symptoms and how to overcome them.

After your initial 2 week free trial, you may need to pay to continue using your chosen stop smoking aid. You could use the money you're saving from not smoking, or you can ask for a prescription from your doctor.

If you do not get free prescriptions, you may need to pay a standard prescription fee for this.

If you would like to stop smoking using a vape, you will soon be able to get a free vape kit, to use instead of stop smoking aids. If you're interested, ask your advisor about this.

Week 3 to 6

This session is about 15 minutes long.

By this point you have probably started your quit attempt and are no longer smoking.

You advisor is there to help and support you in overcoming any challenges you might face. If you're happy with your medication, then you can get a prescription.

From week 6 onwards you will have regular phone calls with your advisor to check in on how you are doing, understand any difficulties you have faced and help you to remain smoke free.
