Health and Wellbeing in Bristol

The Health and Wellbeing Board approved the  pdf Joint Local Bristol Health and Wellbeing Strategy (292 KB)  in February 2020.

It sets out our local health and wellbeing priorities and is based on evidence from our Joint Strategic Health Assessment, ambitions in the One City Plan, and feedback from community engagement. Detailed actions relating to each priority are developed or overseen by the Health and Wellbeing Board at monthly meetings.

Our vision

Our vision is for citizens to thrive in a city that supports their mental and physical health and wellbeing, with children growing up free of Adverse Childhood Experiences, and the gaps in health outcomes between the most economically deprived areas and the most affluent areas of Bristol significantly reduced.

The key themes of the strategy

In order to achieve this vision, we have identified 5 themes:

  • Healthy childhoods
  • Healthy bodies
  • Healthy minds
  • Healthy places
  • Healthy systems
