Information about the Bristol Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy and Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment.

pdf The Bristol Domestic Abuse Safe Accommodation Strategy 2022 to 2025 (506 KB)  outlines how Bristol will provide safe accommodation and support for domestic abuse victims.

This strategy describes the programme of work which addresses the safe accommodation element of the upcoming wider Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence Strategy.

It covers a 3-year period, but will be reviewed annually to make sure we're responding to the emerging needs of victims and survivors of domestic abuse who access support in Bristol.

The strategy is being published in line with the requirements of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (GOV.UK).

The strategy has been informed by the pdf Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment (2.77 MB) .

It provides an assessment of the needs of the population of Bristol City in relation to domestic abuse.

This needs assessment covers the statutory requirements of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 set out in the Ministry for Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) template.

There's a specific focus on the statutory duty for Tier 1 Local Authorities which is in relation to safe accommodation needs.

The needs assessment will help to determine the level of need for support within safe accommodation for Bristol.

However, the scope has included other needs of victims and survivors, wider than safe accommodation support.
